Connect with the Mayor

Since taking office in 2011, Mayor Jay Tibshraeny has launched several initiatives to connect with community members
in areas that are important to the entire City. The Mayor encourages all Chandler residents to get involved. Here's a look
at these important initiatives:

Neighborhood Excellence Awards Mayor Jay Tibshraeny launched a new Neighborhood Excellence Awards recognition program in 2013. The Mayor has long been a supporter of neighborhoods and announced the awards program as a way to recognize neighborhoods and their leaders for working to improve their community and inspire others to be more active and involved. For more information about the awards program or how to become a registered neighborhood, contact Chandler's Neighborhood Programs Office at 480-782-4354.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018.

The winners of the Neighborhood Excellence Awards will be announced on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the Police Department Main Station, 250 E. Chicago St., beginning at 10 a.m., as part of the 2018 (G.A.I.N.) kick-off event.

Mark your calendar for the 2018 S.A.V.E. event, which will be held on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Veterans Oasis Park, 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road.

Building Future Leaders logo The Teen Leadership Academy is a five-day program that will teach participants about the inner-workings of municipal government from the Mayor and Council office to every department in the City. Students will meet with City elected officials, managers and staff while also participating in activities to better understand how Arizona’s fourth largest city is run.
