March Madness Book Sale at Chandler Public Libraries March 17-19
The March Madness Book Sale will be held March 17-19, 2017, at all four Chandler Public Library locations and it offers a great selection of popular fiction and other genres in gently used hardback and paperback. All items will be discounted 25 percent on Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, with additional savings on Sunday, March 19.
Proceeds from this and other used book sales benefit the Friends of the Chandler Public Library, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and support the Chandler Public Library in our community. Book sale customers can receive the best value by becoming members of the Friends to receive an additional 25 percent off used book purchases all year long, including during the Friends preview sale on Thursday, March 16.
In addition to the March Madness Book Sale, the Friends display used books for sale year-round in all four Chandler Public Library locations:
    •   Basha, 5990 S. Val Vista Drive,
    •   Downtown, 22 S. Delaware Street,
    •   Hamilton, 3700 S. Arizona Ave.,
    •   Sunset, 4930 W. Ray Road.
The Friends organization began more than 30 years ago when a group of Chandler residents recognized that libraries needed additional support and formed a non-profit organization to help provide donations of both time and money to best serve the community through the library. The Chandler Public Library programs benefitting from the Friends include Tutor and Talk-Time, Adult and Early Literacy, Adult and Teen Volunteer, Summer Reading Programs for all ages, and STEAM programs to foster creativity, discovery, and innovation in a safe and fun environment. The Friends also support infant, preschool, and children’s programs such as Lapsit, Babytime, High-Five Reading Together, and Read to Succeed interactive programs, as well as Battle of the Books for school-aged children.
“Our Friends provide a platform of support that allows us to create life-changing programs, services, collections, and spaces that wouldn’t be possible with municipal funding alone” says Kris Sherman, Assistant Library Manager. “By supporting the March Madness Book Sale you are supporting the Chandler Library.”
