Chandler Public Library hosts Connect!, a TEDx event Oct. 14
In an ever-evolving world, technology continues to drive much of our daily lives. Yet, many people crave connection with others more than ever before. Personal connection is sought in many different ways and forms in order to create a sense of belonging, purpose and satisfaction.

Connect!, a TEDxChandlerPublicLibrary event on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, will feature local speakers who are making connections through research, objects, laughter and presence. What they see in the world may just change your perspective too.
Connect! will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 14, at the Chandler Downtown Library, 22 S. Delaware St. It is open to the public and free, however pre-registration is required at, starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30. In order to meet TEDx rules, this event is limited to 100 attendees, so individuals wanting to attend are encouraged to register as soon as they can. Previous TEDx events at the Chandler Library filled within 48 hours.
Auditions were held in August and six speakers with diverse professional backgrounds were chosen. The six speakers and their topics are:
  • Lydia Chew – Connecting the STEM to the root
  • Jody Crago – Objects of my obsession: How everyday objects connect us to people and the world around us
  • Dave Engelthaler, Ph.D. – Connect the first world to the third world
  • Candace Lewis, Ph.D – A therapeutic trip: From experience to epigenome
  • Ricky Olson – Leverage laughter to create connection
  • Jen Rooney – Connect four C’s and come alive! 
Tisha Marie Pelletier, an East Valley entrepreneur who mentors future entrepreneurs, will emcee the event. Pelletier is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Communications at Arizona State University, with an emphasis in business and marketing.
