Orientation sessions scheduled for organizations applying for human services funding

The City’s Neighborhood Resources Department will host grant orientation sessions for organizations interested in receiving FY 18/19 Human Services General Fund and Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)/Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding. Applicants who intend to apply for funding also should submit an online survey at by 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Interested representatives may attend sessions at either 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, in the City Council Chambers, 88 E. Chicago St. Applications for all funding will be available beginning Wednesday, Oct. 23, and are due before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The Neighborhood Resources Department oversees the annual allocation of more than $2.53 million in funding for human services provided to nonprofits that assist residents in Chandler. The City partners with outside agencies to provide residents and neighborhoods with assistance to help stabilize the community and individual homes, and assist families. CDBG and HOME funds, combined with ongoing support from the City’s General fund provide for a variety of programs that enhance neighborhoods.

New agencies that have never received funding from the City of Chandler allocations process, or have not received funding in the past three years, are required to attend one of the grant orientation sessions. Both sessions will provide agencies an opportunity for in-depth review of the allocation process as well as training on ZoomGrants, the new online software City staff will utilize for funding application submissions.

To RSVP or for questions related to the allocation process, contact Niki Tapia at 480-782-2214, or email
