Register to vote in upcoming August City election

On Tuesday, Aug. 28, Chandler residents who are registered voters will have the opportunity to elect a Mayor, three City Councilmembers and consider Proposition 408 (Home Rule Option) during the Primary Election. The deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 28 election is Monday, July 30.

Register to VoteTo register to vote in Arizona, you must meet the following qualifications:
  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Be an Arizona resident at least 29 days before the date of the election;
  • Be 18 years of age or older on or before the date of the election.
Chandler residents who have an Arizona driver license or I.D. card may register to vote online or update their existing registration at servicearizona.com. Residents also may access the online registration website through Maricopa County Elections at recorder.maricopa.gov/elections/registrationform.aspx

To start the process, click on “Voter Registration,” select your language preference, then click “Begin/Update Voter Registration.” You will need to verify your voter eligibility, enter your information in the required fields, verify address information and then select party preference. Also, voters should update an existing registration if you’ve moved, changed your name or want to change political parties.

Residents also have the option to download a paper voter registration form and mail it back to the County before Monday, July 30: recorder.maricopa.gov/pdf/Voter_registration_fillable_form.pdf. Completed paper registration forms should be mailed to: Maricopa County Elections, 111 S. Third Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85003-2212. Registered voters who would like to receive an early ballot by mail who are not already on the Permanent Early Voting List, must submit their request via email to EVReq@risc.maricopa.gov, or fax to 480-360-3628. Voters also have the option to request an early ballot by phone by calling 602-506-1511. In addition, requests may be mailed to:

Voters will need to include the following with their written request (sent via email, fax or mail):
  • First and last name
  • Residence address
  • Mailing address (if different from their residence address)
  • Date of birth
  • Election they want to vote in
  • Signature
